We accept nearly every kind of radioactive/nuclear source from check sources and seeds to industrial sized gauges and flood sources for disposal since our incorporation. Some pieces of equipment such as scintillation counters, thickness gauges, and numerous operations in the medical fields all use radioactive sources in their daily duties. ADCO Services can aid you in your efforts to have items such as the ones mentioned above removed. Proper permitting, surveying, knowing what packaging to use to be D.O.T. compliant, exposure limits, paperwork, and finding a disposal facility to accept your sources can all be an overwhelming task, not to mention time limits that are set forth by state and federal agencies to possess your sources. ADCO Services is licensed to store your sources and remove them from their housing units thus reducing disposal volumes meaning lower costs to you! ADCO Services will then send for recycling any remaining wastes such as lead and steel housing units once it has been determined that the housing units have no radioactive contamination present.

A generator who wants to dispose of any sealed sources into the Barnwell, SC site must possess a South Carolina Transport Permit for the site that the source is to be disposed before ADCO Services, Inc. can authorize shipment of sources. ADCO Services, Inc. can assist generators with obtaining the proper South Carolina permits. ADCO Services, Inc. accepts a full spectrum of radioactive  sources. With special arrangements, ADCO Services, Inc. can even accept leaking sealed sources and can provide source encapsulation into concrete but please note that special form documentation is required.
